When Hunter Dickinson announced his decision to transfer, the first person who came to mind for me was Terrence Williams II.

Here at Michigan, we've seen those two together for the last three years, but that stretch represents just a small stretch of their close relationship.

These two have been friends, brothers, since childhood.

They committed to Michigan together and pretty darn close from a timing perspective.

There was a palpable connection when those two were on the floor together, which led to a lot of winning for the program with those two as key cogs.

And maybe the most memorable moment was the last regular season win for the two together.

Williams found Dickinson, and Dickinson hit the game tying three against Wisconsin.

It is wild to think where things went from there, both during the course of the season, and then the aftermath.

So in this era, my mind immediately went to the question of, well, is Terrence next?

Will T. Will hit the portal. Portal announcements are pretty common these days, after all.

That's not the case, though, as T. Will is readying for his fourth season in the Mays in Blue.

Well, several ideas why he is still here. For a young man who admits to needing to improve his verbal leadership,

he seems ready to shoulder even more of that responsibility this year after he was one of the

captains last year. And he also seems willing to acknowledge that last season wasn't good enough

for him and for this program. Of course, the path to bouncing back becomes a bit more challenging

without a player like Hunter Dickinson. I'm not breaking any news there. But you can tell in

this conversation the two things can potentially be true at once. T. Will cares deeply for

Hunter Dickinson, their close friends. And also, Terence is very excited by the challenge of playing without him, of keeping the

program going in the post-Hunter Dickinson era. We've talked about it for weeks now. Michigan will
