But I did want to chime in with some thoughts of the departure of Hunter Dickinson.

And these are a little bit tardy.

I was out of town for a good chunk of last week and even the late stages of the week before.

To preface is, I don't look at myself as a reporter, right?

I am the play-by-play broadcaster for the program.

I am wearing the Block M while I call the game.

I want Michigan to win.

There are plenty of great reporters, and there is plenty of great reporting out there,

both within the local Michigan beat and nationally in college hoops about Hunter, about a lot of transfer portal

topics. From my standpoint, I try to look at it from some of the context clues, observations,

and to me, what really was the moment that forced me to step back and wonder about the future of Hunter Dickinson was the final time we saw Hunter in the maze and blue.

And I'm not referring to the game against Vanderbilt.

I'm talking about the post-game press conference after that stunning late game loss to the Commodores.

Through it all, wins and losses,

ups and downs, Hunter Dickinson was almost always willing and able to talk. Of course, we knew he was going to talk plenty during and after a Michigan victory when he was with

the Wolverines. And he seemed to even know in losses, yeah,

he was a villain, but almost always there was a potential out, another game on the schedule.

Heck, even another season on the horizon when he talked after the Elite 8 and after the

Sweet 16 in his first two seasons. But in that two-minute press conference, it was two minutes.

It was a short one.
