Well, we last talked here on Defend the Block about a month ago.

Pretty calm month, huh?

Yeah, it's been wild, and the college basketball offseason has just begun.

Of course, many of the biggest storylines at this time of the year in college hoops

revolve around the transfer portal.

And if you've ever been surprised here this offseason by someone entering that portal,

I hope that this stretch proves to you that

nothing should totally surprise you based both on the sheer number of portal goers. We've seen

stages where more than 20% of Division I men's basketball players are in the portal at a given

time. And then of course, some of the big names who elected to enter their names.

We will talk about the one that most impacts Michigan here in a bit.

But as a result, Michigan, like many programs, could and likely will, look very different

from last season to this upcoming season.

The portal, roster fluidity, all of that, it's the nature of the sport now, period, full stop.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that things are totally different from recent seasons in

terms of roster fluidity.

Look at the conveyor belt for Michigan over the last few seasons, just for this current

juncture, right?

You've got Kobe Buffkin and Jed Howard heading to the NBA draft.

Of course, Hunter Dickinson, still in the portal.
