In a little bit, you'll hear from head coach Juan Howard. And the highlight from that conversation

in our postgame chat was that he said he's glad it's early in the season because this team has

a chance to work out some of the things that they're currently struggling with. And I'm sure if

you followed this team through six games, you probably said that at some point. You probably said

some other things because Michigan has not been consistent yet, really at any point for a full 40 minutes.

The Wolverines have not put together a full 40.

They have not led at the under 16 media timeout of the first half in any of their six games.

And even down the stretch in this one, which was a comfortable victory for a while, Jackson State cut it to within six

at one point in a game that until that point, Michigan had led by double figures in the

entirety of the second half. Now, the Wolverines got the job done. They earned a double-digit

victory over Jackson State, but there's no denying that through six games, there are probably

more questions that have

popped up about this team than answers that have been already figured out for this ball club

heading into the meat of their schedule.

Michigan did clean up some things.

There was an extended stretch or two in that game where Michigan's defense showed the

principles they will need to against the top

foes in their non-conference slate in Big Ten play. Michigan did not have a free throw shooting

performance greater than 67% before coming up with a 16 for 19. That's 84% showing in a game where

in the final moments, Michigan needed those. Six of six from

Jail and the well and were key in the final minute as well. Remember last year, again, it was a

bumpy ride. Michigan got to the NCAA tournament, but it was dicey for a number of reasons
