A few days after announcing his return to Michigan men's basketball for a third season,

Hunter Dickinson joined this podcast.

It was in late April, and there were a number of questions that I asked that many asked,

and Hunter's always been willing to talk and give people insight into the decisions that he makes.

Certainly this was a big one.

He was coming back to college for a junior season,

fresh off an awesome sophomore year

and a great Big Ten freshman of the year debut campaign.

I asked him about legacy.

And this was his response back in late April.

Yeah, I mean, you know,

you talk about that legacy stuff.

I mean, that stuff means, you know, a good deal to me, you know, you talk about that legacy stuff. I mean, that stuff means,

you know, a good deal to me. Um, you know, hopefully, if I continue my play, you know,

who knows what will happen with that. Um, you know, I know my goal this year academically is

definitely to try to graduate. And so, you know, I'd be really proud of myself if I'm able to accomplish that

goal. You know, I've known my parents be really proud of me. And that's something that I feel like

I would really be taking full advantage of, you know, the college experience if I'm able to accomplish

that. And, you know, just that legacy part does, you know, mean something to me, like, you know, if I were able to, you know, I don't even

know, I can't even think that far ahead, but, you know, whatever happens happens, and, you know,

I'm going to just try to leave my mark, you know, before I leave this university.

Two takeaways from that clip. Number one, he's willing to come right out and say, yeah, legacy means something to me.
