Michigan men's basketball has enjoyed plenty of international recruiting success, from the Wagner

brothers to several key Canadian prospects like a Caleb Houston or a Nick Stouskis or an

Ignus Brzeakis. And while every story and journey is different, that pipeline is a valuable one

on the court because those players were really, really good, and it's an intriguing

one as a recruiting point when the Wolverines target another prospect from outside the country.

The newest such player has yet to step foot in Ann Arbor, but fans are already excited to see

what he can bring to the table.

Yusuf Kuyat, a native of Lebanon and a well-traveled young man who has played on many

teams in many countries while still being in his late teens, he will eventually get to

Ann Arbor.

For now, he's staying sharp and working out back home while watching workouts and connecting

with his now teammates over video and texts.

What I marveled about Franz Wagner during his freshman year and what I heard about

Mo Wagner during his early days in Ann Arbor is that the cross-continent move did not seem to

phase them.

I'm sure there were some challenges, some moments that were more difficult for them than others,

but they didn't allow that to seep through.

Making a transition into college as a student athlete can be a difficult process for anyone,

but imagine adding in the unknown of being in a different country.

It takes a special type of person to absorb all that.

Franz and Mo had that. Even guys like Caleb and Nick, maybe not quite as culturally different,
