For a while, it looked like Michigan was simply picking up where it left off from Indianapolis a week prior.

You remember, that collapse against Indiana in the Big Ten tournament.

Michigan committed eight turnovers in the game's final 12 minutes, 30 seconds, as Indiana erased a 17-point deficit.

Then, Michigan against Colorado State in the round of 64 on Thursday, coughed it up nine times in the game's first 14 minutes 51 seconds so put it together that's 17 turnovers in a little bit more than 27 game minutes that's not doable that's not winning basketball in any event, let alone the big dance.

Then things changed.

Then Frankie Collins emerged.

Collins was the initial spark plug. He came up with a personal 5-0 run and won on a difficult shot and then a steal and slam to make it 28 to 18.

From there, it was pretty seesaw until that end of the first half.

The second half very much belonged to Michigan, and it came in waves.

Caleb Houston was some big threes.

Frankie Collins continuing to surge.

He had seven in the first half, seven in the second half.

Eli Brooks, calm, cool, and collected with a few big jumpers, six important free throw makes,

seven boards and six assists. Hunter Dickinson was the game's leading score, and yet it was pretty

quiet for him all things considered. 21 points only requiring 10 shots to get there.

And ultimately, yeah, Michigan did some things that Major Scratcher had, especially early.

They still had some turnovers as the game went on.

They gave up second chance opportunities, but they were effective when they took care of the

basketball.

This did not feel statistically like a 12-point game when you look at the fact

Michigan shot 54% to just 35% for Colorado State.

And that's the other aspect.
