I'm Jacob Jarvis, and joining me today is Raph Bear. Hi, Raff. Good morning.

Raph, the defense review seems to be the big news of the moment. Is this predictably going to be largely focused on Russia?

Inevitably, yes, and that's very much the focus the government has put on it. John Healy,

the Defence Secretary, has framed it very explicitly as a message to Russia. And that is largely because at this precise moment, with the war in Ukraine and the

UK having a very forward position in support of Ukraine. And meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic,

Donald Trump looking very flaky in his support of NATO and the transatlantic alliance

looking shaky. There is a very real feeling that

the medium to long-term strategic challenge to UK security right now is coming from the Kremlin.

That's essentially a fact about the condition we're in in the world at the moment.

With the threat of Russia, John Healy has said that Russia is attacking the UK daily.

He's talking of cyber attacks here.

Is that information really anything particularly new?
