Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Lunch, our afternoon update on today's market action news and analysis.

Good afternoon. Today is Wednesday, August 9th I'm your host Kim Khan. Our top story in

today's session. Universal music is looking to protect its musicians from the threat

of deepfakes by striking a deal with Google to license voices and

tunes for AI-generated songs. Both companies are in talks about a deal, the

FT reports. Deep Fakes mimic voices, lyrics, or sound, usually without consent. Talks are at an early stage, and no product launch is expected soon, the FD says citing sources.

The negotiations are aimed at making a tool for users to create deep fake tracks legitimately, paying the copyright owners.

Artists would be given the choice stopped in.

Deutsche Banks says it looks like U.M.G. is acting to turn AI into an opportunity and increased potential

areas of monetization for its catalog. Warner Music Group is also said to be in talks with Google.

Universal has been at the forefront of demanding copyright protection amid the AI wave.

General Counsel Jeffrey Halston told lawmakers, an artist's voice is the most valuable part of their livelihood

and to steal it, no matter the means is wrong.

Now I'll look at today's trading.

Stocks are mixed and investors may be keeping some powder dry ahead of the

CPI numbers on Thursday.

The Dow is slightly higher with the S&P flat and the NASDAQ lower.

Rates are little changed as traders wait for the afternoon auction of $38 billion in 10-year

Treasury notes. The 10-year Treasury notes.

The 10-year yield is off slightly round about 4%.
