So I want to welcome those of you joining us from all over the state of Georgia, all over the country,

and more and more all over the world and all of Atlanta area campuses.

It is so fun to see this growing network of men and women who claim to be Christians and

understand it's not simply about believing things.

It's about doing things.

At the end of Jesus' most famous message, the sermon on the Mount, which is a message he gave many, many times.

That was kind of his core teaching. At the end, he told this parable, you've all heard it,

probably, you know, he said, he hears the person who listens to the words that I've just said

and puts them into practice. In other words, the person who does what I've been talking about,

it's like a person who builds their life or their house on a rock. And more and more of us are understanding what it means, not simply to follow Jesus in our heads,

but to follow Jesus with our hands and feet.

And it really is making a huge difference.

And you are making a significant difference in your community, in our communities.

And that's just so fun to be a part of this growing network of Christians who understand that. And if you're not a Christian,

chances are part of the reason you're not is you met too many Christians that just believed a bunch

of stuff but weren't really living it out. So we're just thrilled that you're joining us today,

either watching online or in one of our churches. We're talking about generosity. And perhaps,

and this is just my theory, I don't know, I didn't check this out,

but perhaps what is the most well-known statement from antiquity or from ancient times about

generosity, like the oldest statements you can find that people kind of know and that's

familiar about generosity is actually found in the Bible, specifically in the New Testament.
