some old ones that fit well with this week's newest. The hope is that you can keep this

spooky feeling going well into the weekend, putting a handful of episodes into a new, more powerful

context. So let's get started. This week, for episode 289, Shake It, we look into various

traditional dances and how they have become vehicles for folklore, power, and fear, specifically within Native American

cultures. But it's not the first time that we've discussed indigenous folklore. So here are

three older episodes that should pair up nicely with this week's new one. First, episode 18,

hunger pains. Most people have heard of the Native American legend of the Wendigo, but few know

the frightening facts at its center. Or how those stories once led to real-world tragedies.

2016 episode digs into some incredible folklore surrounding an early Illinois
