Hey folks, Aaron here. Welcome back to another edition of Deeper Lore, a bonus episode that's designed to serve as a topical guide to the most recent episode of lore.

In this short bonus episode, I'm going to dig into our archive of 11 years of topics and point out some old ones that fit well with this week's newest.

The hope is that you can keep

this spooky feeling going well into the weekend, and maybe put a few old episodes into a new,

more powerful context. This week for episode 307, we revisit the classic episode, Mary, Mary.

This real-life story of loss, grief, and hope that a family found in spiritualism is haunting on so many levels.

It's one of my absolute favorite episodes across the entire 11-year run, but it's not the

first time that we've discussed the spirit world. So here are three older episodes that should

pair up nicely with this week's revisit. First, episode 37, passing notes.

I can never not recommend this episode,

partly because it's a perfect introduction to the world of spiritualism in the 19th century,

but also because it's just really creepy.

So creepy, in fact, that it went on to inspire an episode in the first season of the lore TV show on Amazon.

So maybe give this one a re-listen and then go watch that episode on TV, right?
