And for those who have never actually heard it yet, it's a powerful tale of witchcraft

accusations in early New England, and quite possibly one of my favorite episodes ever. And it's worth

revisiting this theme and digging a little deeper to see what other episodes will pair

nicely with it. To that end, let's talk witch trials. Oddly, this has been a hot topic

among listeners for many, many years.

Every time I publish a new witch trial episode, I get comments that ask why in the world

we need yet another story of people accused of witchcraft.

Some listeners, I'm sorry to say, have told me that they are sick of them.

But here's the thing.

Lore is, at its heart,

a show that tries to explore stories from history that demonstrate the intersection of real-world

events and superstitious folk beliefs, and which trials fall into that sweet spot perfectly.

They all took place in a time when events like that were heavily documented, so we have a lot

of records of them, and there were sadly a documented, so we have a lot of records of
