Hey folks, Aaron here. Welcome back to another edition of Deeper LOR, a bonus episode that is designed to serve as a topical guide to the most recent episode of lore.

As I've said before, my team and I have made well over 300 episodes of this podcast over the past decade,

so it can be frustrating when you hear a new episode and have this spark of memory of a similar topic from a while ago, but you can't track it down.

And that's where deeper lore comes in.

The goal here is to quickly point you in the direction of some older related episodes so that you can keep this week's topic alive a little longer, and, you know, go deeper into the lore.

Thus, deeper lore. This week for

episode 278, Bad for Business, we look at the many ways the business world has collided with

the supernatural. Think Ghostbusters, but with real historical characters and events. Honestly,

this one was so fun to put together. But of course, it's not the first time that we've discussed people in the past who made money off of the paranormal.

So here are three older episodes that should pair up nicely with this week's new one.

First up, Episode 8, The Castle.

Yes, this one is about the legendary serial killer H.H. Holmes.

And yes, most people have heard of him.

But don't forget that at the heart of all his nefarious activity was a long-running get-rich-quick

scheme involving insurance fraud. And after you've re-listened to this early classic,

jump over to episode 63 Homecoming, because that's part two of Holmes's tale. And as a result, earning a quick buck plays a central role in that episode as well.

Next, download episode 111 Inside Job.

This classic is partly about a woman named Lucy, partly about sleeping psychics,

and mostly about how people turned that sort of activity into a way of earning a living.

And yes, it's as wild and creepy as it sounds.

And finally, there's episode 215, Mind Over Matter.
