I've been hearing from a lot of listeners that these deeper lore guides are super helpful, but if you're new or haven't figured out their purpose yet, here's a quick breakdown. Over the years, I learned that a lot of folks

enjoy listening to episodes about certain topics. They'll hear a brand new episode, and it will

spark an interest in finding other episodes that might be related. But with over 300 episodes to

sort through, it can be challenging to track down specific ones. And trust me, the lore team and I

are constantly trying to find things

that we know we've covered, and even we have trouble doing so. So this bonus episode is my

attempt to offer a guide for all the folks who are wanting to go deeper on a particular theme,

thus deeper lore. This week for episode 273, a royal pain, we explore a specific class of ghost stories, those that

are focused on royalty. From spectral queens to king-killing phantoms, this episode has it all. But

it's definitely not the first time we've discussed the intersection of folklore and royalty. So

here are three older episodes that will pair up nicely with this

week's brand new one. First up, episode 118 ambition. This isn't necessarily a ghost episode,

but it certainly is situated right in the royal court, specifically in France. It's a wild ride,

too, covering a deadly moment in French history known as the Affair of the Poisons.
