Dazzled by the quick gratification and hyper-individualized nature of consumer culture,

we are often confined to thinking in

insular and short-term ways, disregarding our relationships with both humans and more than humans alike.

Our tools, things like time, technology, data, science, tend to be myopic and disposable, operating in a vacuum.

But what would it mean to think, create, and innovate from a space that considers all the ways we are entangled?

How can we increase our sense of relational obligation to include the beings around us and future generations.

What might transform if we began to operate from a place of deep time diligence?

This week, I'm joined by Tyson Young Caporta, an Aboriginal scholar and author who belongs

to the Appalach clan in far north Queensland, Australia.

Speaking to me from his home on the traditional lands of the Kulin Nation in Melbourne, Tyson

invites us on an adventure into indigenous thinking, from the entwinement of time and place,

to the ways lore and knowledge are kept within lands and tribes.

As he emphasizes how important it is that story, data, and technology

emerge from a place of right relationship,

Tyson explores with the same candor and humor that tempers his books,

how we can usher in new systems of order amid the chaos of the current moment.
