Good evening. In this episode, we'll go through a relaxing meditation that's designed to help quiet your mind and ease you into sleep.

It incorporates one of the most basic concepts of meditation, allowing your thoughts to come and go freely without trying to control them.

We will watch our thoughts float by like clouds against the backdrop of a setting sun. And by the time evening falls, our minds will be clear and quiet.

Although there are a variety of reasons sleep can evade us, the most common reason is a racing mind.

And it makes sense why, after a full day, you've got a lot to think about.

Most of us lead busy lives and we run short on time to sort through everything that happens.

When our heads hit the pillow it might even be the first time we've had in peace and quiet all day.

Naturally, our brain begins to sort through all of those events, thoughts and problems from the day.

And for the most part that's a really helpful thing for the mind to do. That's its job after all. But when we're tired, all we want to do is fall asleep.

So it can be frustrating

and the mind won't stop being the brilliant thinker that it is. We tend to try to control our mind and to

force quiet upon it. Instead, if we simply thank the mind for all it does

and let go of our attempts at control,
