strider is a high-pitched inspiratory noise that indicates swelling in the upper airways rather

than the lower airways. The most common cause of strider in infants less than two years old

is a condition called loringo malaysia.

This is basically a condition where the cartilage of the baby's airways are not strong enough yet to

stay open, so they will intermittently collapse during breathing.
