0:36.0	A frightening drama is taking place, human drama, and the North Atlantic Ocean two and a half miles down.
0:51.0	I read to you from the BBC a massive search and rescue operation is underway in the mid-Atlantic,
0:58.0	after a tourist submarine went missing during a dive to Titanic's wreck on Sunday.
1:07.0	Contact with the small sub was lost about an hour and 45 minutes into its dive.
1:15.0	Tour firm Ocean Gates said all options were being explored to rescue the five people on board.
1:21.0	Tickets cost a quarter of a million dollars for an eight day trip, including dives to the wreck at a depth of 12,500 feet.
1:36.0	The Titanic's wreck lies in 435 miles south of St. John's, Newfoundland,
1:43.0	so the rescue mission is being run from Boston.
1:52.0	Well, this is what I recall. I read a lot about this last night.
2:00.0	They only have oxygen to last until Thursday morning. The trip, as it were, was supposed to be, I think, a number of hours.
2:12.0	There is also a risk of hypothermia as it is cold in there.
2:21.0	It is dark. There is no place to sit, as well.
2:28.0	So they have claustrophobia, hypothermia, loss of oxygen, and a fairly hopeless situation.
2:40.0	There is so much tragedy on Earth, and I don't tend to drop the word 10.
2:46.0	I cannot report all of them, because it would entail 24-7 speaking, and then you would not even cover a fraction, or any more than a small fraction.
3:01.0	Nevertheless, some things obviously grip you.
3:10.0	I obviously truly hope that they will be rescued. I don't know how a rescue would look.
