Shotgun Spratling and Jack Smith return with another episode of the Dedeaux Download Podcast to break down the second week of action in the 2024 season -- one where USC baseball earned its first series win of the campaign.

They break down USC's 2-2 week, which included the Trojans falling to 0-5 on the season before getting a walk-off win on an Ethan Hedges ninth-inning drive to the wall to beat Portland, 6-5. USC then built on its momentum the next day with a 10-4 win to take the series from a solid Pilots squad.

After scoring only seven runs in the first five games, the 16 put up on the scoreboard in their two wins was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans, who mixed and matched lineups throughout the week as they continue to try to find the right combinations.

USC head coach Andy Stankiewicz joins the Dedeaux Download Podcast to discuss the week of action and the message he delivered to his team after they started 0-5 with everything seeming to go against them. The Trojans' second-year head coach also discusses USC's first weekend in their home away from home of Great Park in Irvine, Calif. where it is playing the majority of their weekend home games this season as Dedeaux Field is under reconstruction and not available.

Stankiewicz also breaks down the players that have got off to a good start along with those that need to pick things up as USC heads into a difficult week with future Big Ten rival Michigan coming to town for a midweek matchup before the Trojans head to Globe Life Park in Texas to take on a pair of top 10 teams in TCU and Texas A&M.
