It has been a busy, newsy couple of weeks in the race for the White House.

All of a sudden, there is immense energy behind Kamala Harris

as the new presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.

With Joe Biden now officially a lame duck president, change is in the air.

But here's one thing that has not changed.

There is still a reasonable chance, maybe a more than even chance,

that Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. And so it remains

very much worth trying to figure out what his foreign policy might look like. Now, Trump says a lot of

things, and who knows if he will actually do as he says? It's hard to find the signal in the noise

of his often scattergun pronouncements.

It's a guessing game.

But I thought it would be useful today to speak to someone whose views on Ukraine and China

have really made a mark in Washington, and especially in Trump's orbit.
