Bolton County, Georgia, district attorney, Fanny Willis brought her long-awaited indictment

against former President Trump last week.

Using a statute designed to take down mobsters, Willis charged Trump with leading a sweeping

conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.

The indictment is Trump's fourth and less than five months as he leads the Republican

primary to challenge President Biden in 2024.

In this episode, we talk with the federalist's legal correspondent, Margot Cleveland, one

of the best red reporters and commentators on Trump's legal labyrinth.

She joins us to explain what's at the heart of Willis' case and Trump's legal strategy

for striking back.

Hi, Margot.

First off, what is the top line takeaway from the indictment?

I guess the big takeaway is that it's 99 percent garbage and the 1 percent that could

be legitimate crimes is buried amongst everything and is very difficult to get a handle on.

And that 1 percent would be lying to the grand jury and lying to the legislature, which

is alleged in there, but it's buried amongst everything else.

So it's hard to see exactly what those issues are.

Now Fanny Willis is a fan of racketeering cases and has brought another one here.
