| 0:32.8 | And I know that we all come from a lot of different backgrounds when it comes to family. |
| 0:39.3 | I know some of you maybe you grew up in a family where it seemed like everything was perfect and right. In fact, Stacy and I, when we met as teenagers, she took me home to her parents. |
| 0:44.3 | And her family was and is about as perfect as it gets. |
| 0:48.3 | I mean, like family meals were orderly, everybody had a seat, her dad was a pastor. I mean, I was like, wow, |
| 0:55.7 | this is an amazing family. Now my family, I love them. They're amazing too, but we had |
| 1:01.7 | our challenges. And my parents, when I was young, they divorced. I lived with my dad as a single |
| 1:06.6 | father. I love both of my parents. They're great parents. They taught me about Jesus. They have been |
| 1:12.2 | great encouragers. But in a broken home, there are things that, you know, happen that are just |
| 1:17.0 | different. And so my dad, when he remarried my stepmom, who I love, we would often have people over |
| 1:23.0 | for meals. And there was this one moment, you know, in our house, we would have, like, fights over meals or arguments over meals. And there was this one moment, you know, in our house we would have like fights over |
| 1:28.4 | meals or arguments over meals and there was this one moment where my step-sister brought home |
| 1:33.0 | a boyfriend. |
| 1:34.6 | And during the meal, there was a conversation about passing the sour cream and it didn't |
| 1:39.9 | go very well and this ended in an argument with the sour cream, true story, on the wall |
| 1:45.7 | behind my sister's boyfriend, and he never came over for a meal again. |
| 1:50.7 | So if you grew up in a home where sour cream got thrown against the wall, or you grew up |
| 1:56.0 | in a close to perfect home, it's good for you to know there is hope wherever you are in that journey. |
