On this day in 1964, 27 year old Peter Egan, his 24 year old wife Barbara Egan,

and his 19 year old brother, Gerald Egan,

were murdered at a rest stop.

Each family member was shot twice in the head

in what was described by investigators

as a gangland revenge killing.
