Starting in 2024, Grand Union Trains will run five times daily from Carmarthen via Cardiff and Bristol Parkway to London, in competition with GWR.

| 1:37.4 | You've also got the Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line running through here, but effectively they're all very much on the same side. |
| 1:41.3 | Now, open access operators are different. |
| 1:46.1 | The idea is that they bring in competition at no cost to the taxpayer and they improve the situation for travellers. And the most perfect example is on the East Coast main |
| 1:54.9 | line. On the East Coast main line, the main train operator is actually the state-run L-N-E-R, London-Northeastern Railway. |
| 2:04.3 | And they do a sterling job linking, well, the main core of the line is London to York, to |
| 2:13.3 | Newcastle, to Edinburgh. |
| 2:15.5 | They do that pretty much every half hour. |
