with a forecast of the decade to come is futurist Amy Webb. Plus the

tech as well and I'll ask him why he decided to buy Time magazine. I'll also

while so much about media is changing.

But let's take a big picture view as we begin this hour.

This was the decade of screens and streams and also painful

strains on the shared notion of truth. To see what has changed, just look at

some of the words that were been added to the Miriam Webster Dictionary in the past 10 years.

There is bingeable, that's a new one, a screen time, a cyber safety, also airplane mode,

plus click bait, emoji, meme, that's a new one

in the past 10 years, but also deep state

and truther, and alt-right and

an idiocracy.

You can just think back to 2010

before any of those words really entered our lexicon.

It was the year the iPad launched. It was also the year Instagram started.

In 2011, just 35% of American adults

owned a smartphone.
