Hello and welcome to today's independent travel podcast with me, Simon Calder.

I am in beautiful Krakow today. It's Wednesday the 20th of December and I'm just going to the airport.

I've got to catch the train from the station, which is in the middle of a big shopping centre.

Let's see how we get on. So here is the shopping centre and it looks quite straightforward because you just go through, thank you, it's a very good extra,

and there you are. You go left to get to the train station. Unless you are in the need for a

last minute present, you're probably not going to be going into Swarovski or to Klinik or any of the other beautiful boutiques here.

But by the way, if you are in Poland because it's got a fantastic Christmas market,

or just because you love the country and its people, this is one of the finest malls in the whole nation so maybe mark it down for next

Christmas but my mission today is not to buy any bauble or gifts simply to catch a train to the

airport I know there's one at six minutes past 11 because, well, I checked online.

I couldn't see how to buy a ticket online, but I have actually managed to make my way to the station in good time.

I've got actually about another nine minutes, so all I need to do is go to the station in good time. I've got actually about another nine minutes,

which I know is downhill, because I was told it was.

But hang on, ah, here we are.

There's another sign. This is very, very good news.

So let me follow that down.

Well, I'm not quite sure where it's showing, but it must be down here.

No, it's not.

Ah, but I can just see in the distance there something showing me the way to the station.

So I presume when they say down to the right right what they mean is go left and then down

which obviously um not being a local i wouldn't necessarily know so i'm actually back at sort of street
