Now, the reason I'm at Kings Cross is that there's plenty to celebrate here.

London Kings Cross is the capitals hub for the East Coast main line.

That is the UK's prestigious line that runs from here to Peterborough to through North Hamptons, Nottinghamshire, forgive me, onwards to Yorkshire, to the northeast of England, and then into Scotland.

And you can go as far as Inverness and Aberdeen on trains from here.

So it's a mighty, mighty line and it has some of the best train operators

going. The incumbent L-N-E-R, which is a state-run organisation. You've got Hull trains, which does

what it says on the ticket. It goes from Hull via Doncaster and Grantham through to London.

You've also got Grand Central, which serves West Yorkshire and indeed T-Side.
