Yeah, kindness sounds like niceness.

Like, it's supposed to be nice.

Well, no, I can particularly speak for guys because I'm a guy.

It may be true for women, too.

But no guy's heart beats faster at the idea of, I can be nice someday.

And yet.

Not what you're looking for.

I'll be a nice guy. Especially when people tell you nice guys finish last. Sure. It's just not interesting. Yeah, right. I don't even necessarily. It's just like there's going to be something deeper than that. And one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the spirit, one of them is kindness. And it sounds like niceness. Like, okay, I have to be nice.

Not what it is.

Kindness in that context means being able to look after the welfare of people who are testing your patients.

Man.

The very people who are driving you a little crazy.

Sherry and ever thinking about this in terms of social media.

Yes.

The ability to return kindness for somebody's throwing a punch.

And you know, and they connect it.

Right.

That's true.

You know they were throwing a punch because you just got hit in the face.

That is a lot deeper and a lot more challenging. And it has to be a work of the Holy Spirit because it's not natural in our human condition. It's not natural at all. No, self-defense is natural. Right. Lash in back at somebody's totally natural. That's why kindness goes totally against the grain. And it's got to be something you can look at over time.

I go, am I actually?
