December 11th. And here's what's driving the day. President-elect Donald Trump has continued to

announce a flurry of new appointments to his upcoming administration. Among the names that have

set Washington a buzz, Tom Barrick, who he appointed as

Ambassador to Turkey. Berwick, as you know, is a private equity executive and longtime friend

of Donald Trump's who served as senior advisor to his 2016 campaign and chair of his 2017 inaugural

committee. For Ambassador to Greece, he went with Kimberly Gilfoyle, the former Fox News host in one

time and possibly still, fiancé, to his eldest son, Don Jr. Though, if you follow Twitter,

you know there's a lot of questions about that relationship right now. Trump named Congressman

Dan Bishop, who is leaving the house after losing a bid to become North Carolina's AG, he's

going to be the number

two spot at OMB, and so he will still obviously be around Washington. And you can say goodbye to

Lena Kahn, despite the fact that J.D. Vance had previously voiced support for her. Trump nominated

Andrew Ferguson to be the next chair of the Federal Trade Commission. Ferguson, as you may know,

has been Solicitor General in Virginia, and he also served as Chief Counsel to Mitch McConnell during the critical second impeachment of Donald Trump. Meanwhile on the Hill, Robert F. Kennedy,

Jr., Trump's picked to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, he's now facing doubt

about the viability of his confirmation.

That's to be expected, of course. My colleague Ursula Perano reports that Susan Collins and

Lisa Murkowski, two famously moderate Republicans, have reservations about his pick.

Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, a physician, is also noncommittal. And that's notable

because he's set to chair the Help Committee,

which has jurisdiction over all health-related issues and would obviously be working closely
