This is Seattle now.

Seattle is hosting a major international sporting event next month,

but the FIFA Men's World Cup isn't the

city's first rodeo. Back in 1990, Seattle hosted the Goodwill Games. Daniel Beekman is here

from the Seattle Times to tell us about the games and what they can teach us about the upcoming matches.

But first, let's get you caught up.

FEMA says it will reimburse Washington State $538 million for costs tied to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nearly half of those funds will go to the State Health Department. They'll use the money to cover funds they had to shell out for protective equipment for patients and health care workers,

as well as lab equipment for COVID testing. Another chunk of the money will go directly to

King County, Pierce County, and the Franciscan health system. Washington State's newest Supreme Court Justice will be sworn in today.
