We have to race through, as you can one imagine, because the news came through yesterday,

that Ant McPartlan is to be charged with drink driving.

And I think the case comes up in April, I think.

And as I predicted on the programme, Declan

will be presenting two Saturday night takeaway shows by his lonesome. Because I shouldn't

imagine anybody would ever want to take over that role of ant. And so they've said, let him do it

by himself. He's going to get a huge round of applause when he walks out. You know that.

So he's going to do two Saturday night shows. They are going to take it over to America.

They're going to do all the things that they would do. It's just so he can have to do it by himself. I'd be in this position. After much discussion and careful consideration, we've decided the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead. We made a promise to take

hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that. So

everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience. There's about a hundred people

involved, apparently, in sort of putting all these things together. So it's a lot of people who could be out of work. Whether the show comes back

again, I've got no idea. And, uh, and apparently gave Deckon his blessing, toasting the two final
