It's just nice to see so many old friends and so many people that I know and you know

I want to welcome you to alcoholics anonymous whether you be new or maybe you're sitting

here and it's been like Leo mentioned about this fellow a long time since he'd been sitting

in a meeting.

I welcome you to this way of life because that's what it is to me because I used to think

alcoholics anonymous to simply just stop you know don't drink and go to meetings and

while that is in the basic fundamentals of some of the activities we do and by the absence

of alcohol the program of alcoholics anonymous has a place to work in my life and I have some

comprehension about it.

I wasn't interested in doing anything anyway, any that required any kind of effort and

this is what I whittled it down to and I could call it it I was a member of AA or going

to AA and all I was doing was bringing abstinence and sitting in a chair.

I wasn't trying to connect to you, I wasn't trying to be a part of you.

I just simply thought this is all that I needed to do and then everything would get wonderful
