Welcome to Pushback. I'm Aaron Mate. The Senate Intelligence Committee recently released a long-awaited

report, the final volume of its investigation into alleged Russian interference in 2016 and

the Trump campaign's potential cooperation or coordination with it,

and whether or not Trump or anybody in the Trump campaign is compromised by Russia.

After the disappointment of the Mueller report for many people who believe that there was

coordination between Trump and Russia, this Final Senate report was seen as a validation of many

of the theories that Trump and Russia were in cahoots. We got the most detailed report we've ever

had on just how deeply engaged the Trump campaign was with that Russian operation in 2016.

A thousand-page bipartisan report from the Intelligence Committee in the Senate,

confirming a bunch of findings from the Mueller report,

but also containing some alarming new findings.

Maybe one of the most stunning was the level of detail

of the then campaign manager, Paul Manafort, sharing very specific

campaign information with a Russian agent. We never know, we'll never know what the Russians

did with that information, but think about that, a campaign manager sharing with a known

Russian agent during the middle of a campaign. And so here you have Paul Manafort, the chairman, secretly meeting with a Russian intelligence

agent, providing that agent internal campaign polling data while that agent's country, Russia,

is engaged in a social media campaign to denigrate Hillary Clinton and help elect Donald Trump.

That is really damning stuff.
