Summary

The filibuster is the Senate's legislative tool to delay the vote on a bill, resolution, or amendment. The longest filibuster speech was against the Civil Rights Act of 1957 which lasted 24 hours and 18 minutes. Democrats are saying the rule is being abused, but eliminating it could mean less roadblocks in the party's agenda moving forward. Leslie Marshall, Democrat Strategist and Fox News Contributor and Jason Chaffetz, Fox News Contributor, Former Utah Congressman (R), host of the "Jason In The House - The Jason Chaffetz Podcast" and served on House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform give their political opinions on the filibuster: who will have the upper hand and whether this is controversy is a political or hypocritical play. During President Biden's first open news conference last week he said the administration's new goal is to have 200 million coronavirus vaccines administered in his first 100 days in office, doubling what he originally projected. We are now at around five hundred and fifty thousand coronavirus deaths in the United States and while the majority of people who have been infected survive, some known as COVID-19 “long-haulers”, stay sick for weeks. Dr. Marty Makary, Fox News medical contributor, a professor of surgery and health policy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine discusses what age bracket experiences these long lasting symptoms, can the vaccine can help and whether new treatments are being underutilized by doctors. Plus, Commentary by Orthodox rabbi, author, and lawyer Rabbi Sam Bregman. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
