More than 10 years ago now, I was in the middle of a painful protracted breakup with my ex Arthur.

We just couldn't see a way forward. and I was at a point of my life when I felt

a lot of time pressure to make sure I could see a way forward because I knew I wanted to be a

mom. That led somehow to me talking about love

and marriage and getting through relationship conflict with two people I had

just met, former Senator Alan Simpson and his wife Anne.
