So Alice, we've finished the story of Brian Jones, the founder of the Rolling Stones.

What have you taken away from this series apart from the obvious style tips?

Yeah, it's very hot in this brokerage actually.

Obviously, it has been fascinating getting to delve into the politics, if you like, of the

Rolling Stones, the struggles for creative control, romantic portrayals, and it kind of all

shows the complexity of Brian's personality of his character and how that fitted into

the dynamics of the band, which if you're listening to this in the wrong order, spoiler,

turns out, wasn't particularly well.

No, but it's not just a story about the inner workings of a hugely popular band.

I think we've seen that the Stones had power well beyond the music industry and the involvement

of the press and the establishment more widely in those drugbots was very telling.

Yeah, it really does show that the Rolling Stones were literally poster boys for everything

that the establishment feared, be it personal freedom, sexual freedom, new ways of thinking,

and ultimately Brian was the one to pay the price for that crusade.

Well, this charged atmosphere of change and conflict is something our guest today knows

intimately as someone very much at the centre of the swinging London scene.

Prince Stasch Klosowski-der-Roller is an artist, writer and musician who became good friends

with Brian Jones during the 60s.

Through their friendship, he became a close associate of the band, as well as with the Beatles,

Jimmy Hendrix, and many other influential artists of the era.

He was arrested along with Brian the night of the drugs bust in 1967.
