I'm your host Anna Kasparian and I am sad to report today that we don't have a lot of

light news stories in the rundown today.

It is a heavy news day. We have been off on holiday vacation

to celebrate the holidays but during that time a lot of news broke a lot of

heavy depressing news broke that I think is important to

fill you all in on but I promise it will be a good show it will be an

informative show and later on in the first hour Jen Jenuger will be joining us to give us

updates on his presidential campaign as you all know he's running in the

Democratic primary it is a long shot campaign, but nonetheless his objectives with this campaign are important,

including fighting for the ability of naturalized citizens to run for president in the United

States, so they're no longer treated as second class citizens.

So we'll get to that later in the second segment of this hour.
