Summary

Bryan Pata was a standout defensive lineman for the University of Miami Hurricanes, and the 22-year-old was projected to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick in the NFL Draft. But on November 7th, 2006, after returning home from football practice, Pata was shot and killed in the parking lot of his apartment complex. 14 years later, Pata’s murder remains unsolved. Over the years, police have pursued multiple leads in Pata’s case, but they have never made an arrest, or even publicly named a person of interest. But now, during a recent court hearing, police say they believe they know who was responsible for Pata’s death, and that an arrest will come in the foreseeable future. 0:17.0	Paula Levine is an investigative reporter for ESPN. Did some errands on campus, went to practice that afternoon,
0:25.6	joking around with his teammates.
0:28.6	He leaves practice, agrees to take some of his teammates home and drops them off and says, hey, you know, take it easy.
0:39.7	We'll see you tomorrow.
0:42.8	It's dark, but it's only, you know, shortly before 7 o'clock.

0:49.8	It's about four miles.
0:51.8	He's on the phone with his brother, Fednellll and they're talking about paint colors for a car

1:04.9	Brian had pulled his car into his parking place at his apartment building and he gets out of the car and someone
1:16.6	shoots him in the head three inches above and a half inch in front of his left ear with a medium

1:28.3	And to this day, no one has been arrested for pulling the trigger.
