Great, well, it's really delightful to be here,

my first visit to Trinity University,

and my second visit to San Antonio.

So thank you for inviting me and for coming to talk about the tearful topic of death,

one of my favorite topics, as you'll see, but, and immortality.

We can't forget the other part of this talk.

So there's a handout and I'll be referring back and forth

to some of the selections there

to integrate into what I'm gonna say.

And I'm hoping we'll have ample time at the end

for questions and maybe answers too,

but definitely all the questions that you might want to ask me. So here we go.

There's an essay published in 1929 by a great American jurist Clarence Darrow, whom you made, if you've

heard of him, you probably associate him with the famous Scopes Monkeyrial, which took place in Dayton, Tennessee.

That was the one immortalized in film by clearance, excuse me, by, oh gosh, that's his name,

Spencer Tracy played Darrow and Inherit the Wind. Maybe you haven't seen that.
