1:38.5	How many of you love someone who is a writer?
1:44.5	So as you all know, this past election season was a brutal one.
1:49.5	And many of us woke up, or maybe never went to sleep the night of the election.
1:55.5	In a state of despair and fear and befuttlement and anger.
2:01.5	And very quickly everyone I know started saying what next, what do we do?
2:07.5	And one of those people is the wonderful poet Aaron Ballou.
2:11.5	And she sent me an email pretty immediately and said, we need to do something.
2:16.5	Obviously, writers and artists of all stripes have always made a contribution to the political life of this nation.
2:24.5	And indeed to the health of our democracy.
