Hello there, and this is me here, Steve, bringing you the first of our regular Halloween

Dear Steve's. We've already started our special Linda, dear Steve's, but these are the regular

ones. So be ready because all of these will make you scratch your head in wonder and shake it

in disbelief. So as I grab a

listener story from the mailbag, are you ready? We would love to know your thoughts about this one.

Dear Steve, I enjoy the show, but I have to say I'm a skeptic when it comes to the paranormal.

There is, however, an experience that my wife and I had a few years back that we will never forget.

We live in the countryside surrounded by farmland in rural Aberdeenshire, and access to our home is

along a narrow country lane with passing spaces.

We were coming home one night between 5 and 5.30pm around September time in broad daylight.

My wife was driving and abruptly stopped the car.

This wasn't unusual, as very often you would only catch sight of oncoming vehicles at the last moment due to bends in the road, and this required one of the vehicles to reverse to a passing place.

After she stopped the car, she apologised and continued on, as there was no oncoming vehicle. I said, no, hold on a second. Did you see a white van?

She said, I thought I did, to which I replied that I saw it too. We discussed it when we got

home, and we're both convinced that we saw a large white box van heading towards us.

There was nothing unusual about it apart from the fact that one minute it was there,

and the next it wasn't, and there was nowhere else it could have gone. We comment on the event

every time we drive that bit of road, but we've not seen anything since. Like I said, I am a

sceptic, but genuinely cannot explain that incident.
