The modern church is facing a crisis of belief. Do we really believe that the message of the Gospel is enough? Do we really believe that God is big enough to push through the cultural fog and invade the hearts of men and women today? What good is an entertaining church service that fails to entertain the questions that this generation is asking? What good is it if we can’t articulate compassion and truth in a way that clearly addresses the message of the cross? The cross is hope.

0:53.4	Today, we're going to be talking about whether or not you are having an impact on the

0:58.6	So a couple of months ago, I wrote about being relevant. And honestly, I was writing kind
1:10.6	of as I was reacting really to what I'm seeing the church doing in an effort to be relevant
1:14.8	in the culture. I received a message from a woman who told me that she was desperate
1:19.2	to reach her wayward son. And this is what she said, I don't want to offend him. I don't
1:24.2	want him to think I'm irrelevant because I believe the Bible. She went on to say she
1:29.0	was even more confused about how to reach her son because her pastor was unwilling to
1:33.1	address cultural issues. You know, we need to be careful not to push anyone away. And
1:37.6	her pastor's passive stance on issues that her family was facing had confused her. So
1:42.6	today, we're going to talk about whether or not it's true that the Bible makes us irrelevant.
