He's been the beat writer for the Ohio State Football Buckeyes for the Columbus Dispatch for 35 years now.

And I want to get to that in just a few minutes, Tim.

Your impending retirement, but first, we've got to talk about the Brett Mc Murphy situation that arose in the last

couple of days, or should I say the latest Brett Murphy situation regarding

Ohio State when you heard about and read about Brett Murphy in a situation

where Urban Meyer supposedly was covering up a racially charged situation regarding

former high state wide receiver Trayvon Grimes and former high state wide receiver coach Zack Smith.

Well, you know, what were your first reaction?

And what were you thinking when you first heard and read about all this?

Yeah, I prefer to refer to it as the Watch Stadium.com story instead of the Brett McMurphy story, because obviously they published it.

So with that said, my first obviously in action was, well, that's not what I heard.

And, you know, that's going back a year ago.

And, you know, you hear a lot of things under the, you know,

under the table or whatever you want to call it you know between the

door here a lot of things as you cover a beat but that had never that it never come up in any kind of fashion and any kind of

rumbling when Trayvon Grimes suddenly as you remember last year suddenly

disappeared and as we found out a week later he was down with his mom who was dealing we were told with a

Diagnosis of a fairly significant disease or problem turns out you know

the story revealed on Tuesday ovarian cancer and he wanted to be with his mom you know probably there was
