Welcome to the Book Right Podcast. We're back with episode 370. It's a new format for

one of these bonus episodes that I approached it a few months ago. I can't remember Rebecca when I brought this up

One thing we used to do on the show was you know new release corner I think Rebecca was in charge of that where we talked about the books coming out that week which got spun off into the all the books podcast which is you know more people like that than this one but that's fine that's okay that's how it's supposed to work I guess it's fine.

But we haven't done yet. I always wanted to do a segment

about book deals that have been announced. Sometimes if it's something

especially exciting where there's an announcement about a book coming out we'll talk about on the show but it

really has to be well what's jack by Marilyn Robinson right that was kind of a

breaking news sort of a situation but it really has to be like a supernova but there's some shooting stars in the night sky that are worth pausing to

notice so what I've done and Rebecca has no foreknowledge of what I've done here which is my

favorite thing I know you have no four

knowledge dot dot dot of what the titles are going to be so I'm going to give her the

pitches and I'm just gonna have we're just gonna talk about it for a few minutes

so I must confess that some of them are picked for me just for me

some of them are sort of picked for Rebecca to be excited about and some of them are

for both of us and some of them just more generally interesting I don't think you follow this news closely, Rebecca.

Am I right? Not super closely, like when a big deal bubbles up, you know, somebody got seven figures for

something or when it's, you know, like Marilyn Robinson's an author that we follow I will

note that and do usually it's just like private Muppet Arms about it but this is not

stuff that I follow on a regular basis now.
