Hey guys, Sierra from the future here and I just felt like it was really important to hop in and just talk about a few things before we get into this episode.

First and foremost, Skyler and I did film this podcast episode over a month ago now and that was prior to the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests and uprising in response to that.

We both felt it was really important to hold off on posting this episode to give space to the Black Lives Matter movement and the Black voices that need to be heard and that we need to be listening to.

Then I had some things go on in my personal life that led us to take another week off and now that we're back, I just didn't feel like it was appropriate to jump in with this episode that has no mention of Black Lives Matter, no mention of everything going on of police brutality, of systemic racism, of all the problems of the Black community faces.

It just did not feel right to jump right in with this episode and so I wanted to come on before and a just let you guys know that the reason we're not talking about those things is because this episode was pre-filmed.

And second to let you know that we are linking a bunch of resources and donation outlets in the comments in the description.

We'll be donating 100% of the proceeds from this episode to a cause fighting racial injustice.

Also, we will be filming a new episode this week to go live next Monday in which we will talk about the Black Lives Matter movement and everything that's been going on.

We're going to be doing our best to use our platform for social good and for social change without centering the narrative on ourselves because this is not about us.

But we do want to make sure that we're using our platform to highlight this very important movement and encourage you guys to donate and support as well.

Also, in this episode, Skyler and I talk about dealing with hate and criticism online and she talks about how she's been thinking about making her Instagram private.

And since filming this episode, she has made the decision to do that, which I support 100%. I'm so proud of Skyler for putting herself and her mental health and her family first.

And I hope you guys can support her in that too. She has decided that she still wants to be on the podcast.
