| 1:17.5 | Is she disappointed? Is she upset? Am I going to get in trouble? |
| 1:20.5 | And so you developed this propensity to start to worry about what's coming? |
| 1:27.5 | The second as an adult, you get into a situation where you start to feel like you don't know what's coming. |
| 1:34.5 | Before you mind even realizes it, your nervous system recognizes it because your mind may have forgotten the pattern but your body sure remembers it. |
| 1:43.5 | And boom, this kind of habitual worrying can take over like that. |
| 1:48.5 | So you're not only dealing with the triggers that are in the present moment. |
| 1:53.5 | You're dealing with past patterns of thinking, whether it's worry or anxiety or its perfectionism or procrastination or hyper vigilance or assuming something bad is going to happen. |
| 2:08.5 | Whatever it may be, that is getting triggered for people at a profound level. |
| 2:14.5 | And so what I want to do today with you is I want to give you some simple tools so that you can create some psychological distance. |
| 2:22.5 | Just a micro moment between the thing that triggers you. |
| 2:26.5 | Let's create a little moment, a pause, if you will, where you can have self-awareness and where you can insert a moment of control. |
