Hi everybody my name is Alexis Nurega I'm a producer here at Forbes and once in a

while I step in front of the camera to give a box office breakdown I'm joined

by reporter Matt Craig who's going to help us get the inside scoop on

Deadpool and Wolverine. Matt thanks so much for being here today.

Thank you for having me. Absolutely. So I want to jump right in. I want to talk about Deadpool and Wolverine. So how much were they

anticipated to make both globally and domestically and how much did they actually make both globally and

domestically? I love that you said they like Deadpool in Wolverine.

They did this together.

They're a team.

This was a massive hit for Marvel, no doubt.

It was always going to be and kind of the tracking and projections went up and

up and over and they didn't really have a handle on it and it settled before the weekend

around $160 to $175 million just in the United States, so domestically.

And it blew that out of the water.

It ended up making $211 million in its opening weekend.

That's the biggest all-rated opening ever by a mile,

way more than the original Deadpool movie, which was the record holder before this in 2016,

at $133 million. And only that, it was the sixth

the biggest opening of any film of all time.

Obviously, that is not adjusted for inflation

and rising prices and things like that but it's a massive

massive movie it also performed very strong internationally I think another
