window that looks like a handprint.

The apartment building I lived in until last year was a U-shape.

It was a three-story building with no elevator, and I lived in room 204.

From the front door, I could see Mruhe 201 across from me.

That apartment was empty when I moved in.

I didn't want to dirty up my apartment, so I used to smoke outside on the doorstep late at night.

Several people looked annoyed with me when they saw me smoking outside, so I tended to do it late at night.

One day I was outside having a cigarette around 1am when I saw something strange on the

window across from me in room 201.

At first I thought it was just a white smudge, but as I got closer to look at it, it looked

like a handprint about the size of a child's.

Maybe one of the local kids tried to get into the apartment because it's empty, I thought.
