Summary

Here's a request from a friend of the Deadpod from down under... this comes to us from the beautiful Red Rocks Ampitheater, on September 8, 1983. Now I only have set 2 in a soundboard format so that's all I'll present of this wonderful show, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

They come out of the gate with a smokin' Scarlet>Fire, the Scarlet almost has a calypso feel to it to my ears as they start, and Phil is driving that train.. as it progresses Jerry just soars.. this one builds and builds and you don't know how they can stop on a dime like they do and go into that Fire.. then suddenly you're there.. i love Brett on this Fire by the way.. the ensemble is terrific here.

Estimated follows after a full stop here, and makes a fine transition to a delicate Terrapin..

Post-drums begins with an Other One tease, but instead Weir leads the band into an excellent 'Throwin' Stones'. The remainder of this set is very high quality Dead. Don't overlook any of it.

Lawrence of Kowlberg down in Australia, he's a friend of the dead pods, requested this a while back.

0:19.0

I don't have the complete show and soundboard, so I'm only going to play the second set. It's very hot.

0:23.8

It starts out with Phil really thumping away on a scar opening Scarlet Begonia.

0:29.3

Jerry picks it up and goes faster and faster. He's wailing away on this one.

0:35.0

They stop on a dime and go into a fire on the mountain. That's quite good as well.

0:40.0

I think you'll enjoy it.

0:42.0

After that, an estimated profit, not quite as memorable,

0:45.0

but it goes into a wonderful Terrapin station

0:47.0

to lead into drums in space.

0:50.0

They do another one tease, but despite that,

0:52.0

Weir comes out with Thron into black Peter, into round and around, into good loving.

0:57.0

Now, those sound like perhaps pedestrian sounding setlist, but I tell you, it's quite well done. It's one of the better

1:05.0

post drum segments you'll hear during this period of time. I think it's really

1:10.6

really quite good, especially that black Peter. I think you'll like it.

They come back for the encore, it's all over now, baby blue.
